Eli's job was to trap gophers. Why? Three reasons, boys need something to do during recess, we have plenty of gophers to hunt, and finally our barn owls could use some help. Eli caught perhaps fifteen gophers. Leo paid him $3 for dead gophers. We had to emphasise 'dead' because in Eli's excitement he often checked on the traps to soon and the gophers were often still alive.
Our barn owls had a feast when Eli was successful. Each dead gopher was set aside for our owls and every morning the gopher was gone. Currently our mother owl is raising two babies. This was easy clean up for us!This last Friday was Eli's family last day. His dad's next assignment is Alaska. His family is very excited. We will miss the boys. Eli and his brothers were pure enjoyment.
As you can see in the background, Leo is hooked up to another trailer ready to pull into Eli family's place. That is life at the 'Bunting compound'. Vickie

That was quick! Those were great boys. Your "compound" seemed like the perfect place for them to hunt critters.
